January 2022 Business Feature
DeCore Fitness is here to help you achieve your health goals for 2022. The studio, which has been open since 2007, offers both one-on-one personal training and small group sessions that range anywhere from three to eight people per session. The boutique studio is owned and operated by Texas A&M graduate, Terri Robbins, who is as passionate about health and fitness as she is about her clients. The studio has five seasoned trainers, including Robbins who is NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certifies, and is equipped with three individual training rooms.
“Our mission has always been to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle by adopting a consistent workout schedule, which in turn will improve your quality of life,” Robbins said. “Everyone comes in here with different needs and goals, and we design a personal program for each of them that begins from exactly where they are when they come in.”
The small studio is the perfect option for those wanting to avoid crowds during Covid and for those who feel uncomfortable in the big-box gym environment. The majority of clients are adults (in all stages of life), who find the warm and encouraging atmosphere conducive to a long-term commitment. There is not the sense of competitiveness one finds in the bigger gyms, nor does one ever feel embarrassed about what they don’t know or how they look.
“It is never too late to start working out,” Robbins encouraged. “Hiring a personal trainer will get you there and hold you accountable . . . and you will be able to enjoy those activities that a lot of people miss out on as they age . . . like getting down on the floor and playing with grandkids.”
